The Opportunity

The Role

  • You will report to the Head of Patents of Rouse, Sweden.
  • You will engage with the other globally dispersed attorney teams of Rouse.
  • You will work with the whole range of core patent attorney work, from identifying and analysing inventions as well as drafting and prosecuting patent applications to assisting in defense of innovation and patents. You will have direct contact with the inventors/scientists and commercial functions of the clients; working alongside colleagues from all competence teams with an ambition to provide clients with the best IP services available on the market.
  • You will work alongside the firm’s management consultancy team and legal team.
  • You will work and/or manage external suppliers of professional services as and when appropriate.

Professional Qualities

  • Degree educated in mechanics, physics, electronics, software or related technologies.
  • At least five years of experience as a patent attorney at a private practice or in industry.
  • Demonstrable business acumen and knowledge with the ability to quickly understand key IP issues relating to a business.
  • Proven ability to work in teams, motivate and inspire others towards a common goal.
  • Strong emotional intelligence in order to understand the heart of a client’s requirements, which may not be extrinsically communicated.
