Patent Attorney

KIPA is a highly regarded boutique IP firm with strong expertise across medical technology and related fields. The firm works with both local and global organisations in a variety of interesting disciplines across life science, medical technology and chemical fields. Due to the firm’s excellent reputation, KIPA attracts a range of clients and patent work – handling a variety of contentious matters, alongside high quality drafting, prosecution and opinion work. At an exciting time of growth owed to the high volume of work and future prospects, KIPA is now looking to welcome a new Patent Attorney with expertise in Biochemistry or Chemistry. This is an opportunity to:

  • Join a highly regarded IP firm with a variety of industry-leading clients across the globe.
  • Build and manage your own portfolio of work and handle the full spectrum of patent matters, including valuable opinion and strategic work, and the opportunity to build a practice of oppositions, and litigation. You will engage with all levels of client contacts.
  • Contribute to the ongoing growth of the firm, working in particular to expand its expertise and client portfolio within the Biotechnology field. Your views and opinions will be truly valued and you will be able to have an impact on the future of the firm and its business.
  • Make your mark. Working autonomously, you will be able to operate from a variety of locations in a flexible working operation. Your professional development will be supported by the firm and you can seize opportunities to grow and develop as you see fit.

This role requires a qualified patent attorney with a strong technical background in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields. You must be fluent to a professional standard in written and verbal English; fluency in French, German, or Swedish is also advantageous. The successful candidate must have a strong foundation of experience in substantive patent matters, particularly drafting, prosecution, and opinion work. To excel in this role, you must have an interest in and aptitude for business development and winning new clients.
