The company understands the impact of IP as a strategic tool, and invests heavily in R&D. Now, as our client continues its expansion plans, there is an opportunity for an IP Manager to join the company and be the first in-house patent specialist. As you work to build upon and further develop their patent strategy and protection, you are also working to better the lives of patients globally. The position of IP Manager presents an opportunity to:
- Protect products that impact millions of people worldwide. Your work will have ramifications across the globe for the ~99 million patients living with life-altering conditions, as you deliver IP protection for revolutionary medications.
- Drive the R&D agenda. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for patent creation; thus shaping the future direction of the company. You will have a blank canvas on which to establish this new in-house patent function.
- Define and execute an effective patent strategy. You will ensure that the development, commercialisation, and protection of new drugs, therapies, or technologies are aligned with both intellectual property laws and your patent strategy.
Our client is seeking a professional with a deep understanding of both scientific principles and patent law. As such, you will possess a minimum of 5 years of patent management experience within the pharmaceutical sector, covering everything from IP education, patent searching, FTO analysis and competitor analysis through to handling the prosecution of a growing portfolio, with the support of external counsel. You come with an educational background in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related fields.
