Senior Lead – patent/litigation analyst

The company’s award‑winning ALD, CVD and epitaxy technologies support progress across communications, cloud computing, autonomous driving, energy and healthcare.
As ASM’s patent portfolio continues to grow, this role strengthens the organisation’s internal IP capability. You will play a central part in assessing risk, identifying infringement, and delivering clear, commercially relevant insight to technical and business teams in Phoenix.
You will:
- Lead defensive analysis – monitor competitor filings, assess freedom‑to‑operate, prepare internal opinions, and support IPR and PTAB activity.
- Drive offensive IP work – conduct infringement hunting, build claim charts, and work closely with Product Unit Leaders to surface commercial opportunities.
- Deliver competitive intelligence – track competitor, customer and supplier IP activity and translate complex data into actionable guidance.
- Build strong internal partnerships – work visibly and collaboratively with engineers, IP Managers and global stakeholders.
- Adopt AI‑enabled tools – use advanced patent search technology to enhance efficiency and prioritisation
This is a high‑impact role within a supportive, low‑hierarchy global IP team. You will operate with autonomy, engage closely with technical leaders, and contribute directly to ASM’s strategic IP position.
