NEC Laboratories Europe (NLE) are primarily focused on research and innovation within AI, IoT, Blockchain, and 5G technologies.
NLE is now seeking an experienced European Patent Attorney to join the IPR department, with a view to champion IP and align the portfolio with business objectives. As Patent Counsel at the Heidelberg site, this is an opportunity to:
- Work on the cutting edge of AI technologies, collaborating with innovators at the forefront of the AI, Machine Learning, and Telecommunications fields.
- Become a key pillar of the IPR team at Heidelberg. Working within a highly skilled team, you will be supported by your colleagues, while also having the opportunity to work independently and claim ownership over your portfolio.

NEC is seeking a qualified European Patent Attorney with professional experience in AI and Machine Learning, or related sectors. You will be confident handling all substantive patent matters; also of interest is proficiency in litigation activities, although not essential. The successful candidate must be professionally fluent in both written and spoken English – fluency in German is desirable but not crucial.
