The Opportunity

You have the opportunity to join an innovative Swedish IP law firm expert within the field of intellectual property.

Founded in 1957, Noréns is a successful, mid-sized IP law firm, whose central drive is to create a long-term relationship with each individual client. Focussing on how intellectual property rights can be optimised within each business situation, new clients are regularly sourced via recommendation alone and Noréns prides itself on having both solid, technical business knowledge and a deep understanding of different regulatory systems around the world.

Attorneys at Noréns deal in all industry fields, technologies, and legal matters. Furthermore, they have a long-standing experience in more contentious matters through ongoing collaborations with external law firms. Noréns belong to SEPAF, the Association of Intellectual Property Law Firms in Sweden, whose aim is to uphold ethics and a high degree of professional skills in the field.

The Role

  • You will work on both EUIPO and Swedish trademark cases. You will be expected to work independently in managing the needs of your clients, but will be supported at all times from colleagues in parallel roles also working within Noréns’ team-based family.
  • You will connect with your clients and evolve with their needs, demonstrating an empathy that will lead to you being regarded as their true expert.
  • You will get access to the full gamut of IP matters across a variety of industry sectors, spanning Sweden, Europe and the US, will handle opposition cases, provide client advice and will also work on other IP matters including copyright, patents and industrial designs.
  • You will be central in further developing Noréns as a leader in the field and have a genuine desire to grow.

Professional Qualities

  • You will come to the role with at least five years of experience, preferably more. Joining a team at full capacity with client instructions, you must be able and prepared to work independently and take on a varied and interesting portfolio of clients and client cases.
  • You will have experience in either practice or industry setting. Equally, you will be considered without a law degree if you have substantial trademark experience.
  • Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to work with a broad audience and impart your expertise and advice in ways that are individually tailored to client needs.
  • You must be excited to collaborate, share and support colleagues within a firm that has a highly professional culture and a caring, supportive and team-based nature.
