The Opportunity

You have the opportunity to join a global health care leader focusing on the research, development and manufacture of products to treat haemophilia, kidney disease, immune disorders and other chronic and acute medical conditions. Located at the former Gambro site in Lund, Sweden, you will be at the hub of innovation for Kidney and Liver Dialysis, Myeloma Kidney Therapy and other extracorporeal therapies for Chronic and Acute patients.
The Lund IP team is an integral part of the Baxter Global IP Group. Hence, you will join a team which is international in dispersion, with attorneys and paralegals in Sweden, Germany, France, and USA. Both the American and European IP teams are fully qualified and highly skilled practitioners with many years of experience and knowledge working for their respective businesses. Your focus will be to provide assistance to IP attorneys who are assigned to work in the field of haemodialysis for chronically and acutely ill patients who are treated in clinics/hospitals, intensive care units, and, though advanced patient care, at their homes.

The Role

You will be located in Lund, Sweden and you will report to the Senior Counsel, Legal-IP. The paralegal team supports Lund but also has responsibility for IP-related matters coming out of research in Italy and France, via external agents. Furthermore, there will be an increasing need to support activity coming out of China and India. Paralegal colleagues are also employed in Germany and the USA at the respective research facilities.

Your main tasks will cover the following activities:

❖ Provide formalities in support of the IP function; including docketing, filing and validation of applications.

❖ Take on the role of a ‘Super-User’ of the database system – Patricia.

❖ Support decision forums attended by the key stakeholders.

❖ Process documentation relating to assignments, power of attorney, duty to disclose etc.

❖ Provide IP related reports.

❖ Conduct IP related searches (e.g. for bibliographic information) and competitive intelligence searches and other similar tasks; including administrative tasks required to support the IP function.

❖ Provide wider administrative duties as and when required.
