The Opportunity

You will join a global leader in micro-acoustic and micro-mechanical technologies for hearing instruments. With more than 6000 employees located across the globe, Sonion develops and manufactures cutting-edge audio components and provides complete solutions to customers manufacturing hearing aids, in-ear earphones and hearables/wearables.

Research and Development remains crucial to the company’s ongoing growth and leadership in its sector. To support this innovative entity, Sonion hired a new IP Manager with the remit to establish an IP-centric culture within the company and to prepare a patent roadmap towards a full-service offering. The next step in this transformation programme, is to create a new and specialised IP role – a dedicated patent search function within the department.

Professional Qualities

  • Educated, preferably with a Master’s degree, in Physics, Electronics, Mechanics, Software or related discipline.
  • You will have at least five years of experience as a patent searcher / (qualified) patent information professional.
  • Experience with major patent related databases and hosts e.g. PatBase, STN, Questel.
  • Experience of establishing new search services and processes and of improving existing ones.
  • Fluent business-level English (C1 or higher).
